| BREAST AUGMENTATION
Clinically referred to as augmentation mammaplasty, the procedure is cosmetically used to:
- Enlarge a naturally small breast, most commonly the result of heredity
- Restore breast volume lost following pregnancy, as a result of breast-feeding or weight lost
- Achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape
The most common incisions Dr. Albert uses to perform breast augmentation are:
- the periareolar area (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple)
- an inframammary incision (underneath in the breast fold)
- an axillary incision (in the underarm area)
- Transumbilical Breast Augmentation
What is Transumbilical Breast Augmentation?
Transumbilical Breast Augmentation is a specialized procedure performed by only a handful of surgeons within the country. This procedure is performed through a small incision within the belly button, leaving no visual scar on the breast. The other advantage of this technique is a shorter recovery time.
Dr. Albert is a clinical investigator for the FDA approved “silicone implant research study. This limited study allows him to use the new generation “gummi-bear” implants in patients who meet the approved criteria.
